St. Mary’s NS is a co-educational primary school under the patronage of the Church of Ireland. It has been located on the current site in Waterpark, Carrigaline since 1987. We are extremely fortunate to be situated on such spacious grounds including playgrounds, several grass areas, and surrounded by a wide variety of native trees. We are currently working on updating our school garden, which is used each year to grow a variety of plants and vegetables and we have recently acquired outdoor seating so that pupils have opportunities to learn in the natural environment. We have recently received a fantastic outdoor climbing wall which is available for all classes to use.
We have eight mainstream classes and two classes for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The School motto, Mol an Óige agus tiocfaidh sí – Praise the youth and they will flourish, is a core philosophy for the school. St. Mary’s N.S. is a community where pupils experience a sense of caring and belonging in a positive, nurturing atmosphere where respect for each other is of paramount importance. We strive to foster the true potential of each child through the nurture of their spiritual, religious, emotional, intellectual and physical development. The school endeavours to complement the work of parents/guardians in the home and build on this relationship to enable the child to grow and develop to achieve their full potential in society.
